Three more testified in the Holly Artizan case

DHAKA: Three doctors, including two doctors and a member of the United Hospital, have been testified in the terrorist attack case of Holy Artisan Bakery, a Spanish restaurant in the capital, Gulshan. Of the 20 witnesses in the case, 3 witnesses were completed.

Judge of the Special Tribunal of the Anti-Terrorism Tribunal on Tuesday (August 28). Mujibur Rahman took this testimony. At the same time, the court fixed August 28 (Thursday) for further testimony.

United Hospital physician Sadia Islam Gold, Nadeem Mahbub and inspector of police counter terrorism Saifuddin Sheikh testified.

Earlier, the six witnesses who testified in the attack on August 25 (Tuesday) are - United Hospital doctor. Masum Billah, Dr. Aminul Hasan, Dr. Ersadullah, Dr. AKM Abdullah Al Masud, CID Additional Superintendent of Police. Sattar, Abu Taher Farooqi, CID inspector Jamal Uddin, Sheikh Nazrul Islam, Masud Siddique and CID assistant DNA analyst Nusrat Yasmin.

On July 7, militants attacked and killed 25 people, including five foreigners, at the Holy Artisan Bakery in Gulshan. The militants launched a grenade attack on the police when they received information of the attack. Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan DB Police (AC) Rabiul Islam and acting Officer (OC) of Banani Police Station Salauddin were killed.

Later, on July 4, Sip Ripon Kumar Das of Gulshan Police Station filed the case. On July 27, the investigating officer of the case filed a charge sheet against the accused in the court of Inspector Humayun Kabir, Counter Terrorism Unit.

However, because of lack of involvement, the case was dropped from the chargesheet named Hasanat Karim, a former North South University teacher.

Later, on November 27, charges were framed against eight accused. The trial of the case began on December 5. The accused are the main coordinator of the attack - Aslam Hossain alias Rashed alias Abu Jarra, an associate of Bangladeshi-born Canadian citizen Tamim Chowdhury; Hasan Reagan, Jahangir Alam alias Rajiv alias Rajiv Gandhi, one of the plotters of the attack Nakari Abdus Sabur Khan (Hasan) alias Sohel Mahfuz, Shariful Islam and Mamun Rashid alias Ripon.

Among them, the abducted Mamunur Rashid alias Ripon was arrested on January 3 in Gazipur and Shariful Islam alias Abdus Sabur Khan on January 25 from Chapainawabganj. At the time of the testimony, all the accused were produced from prison to court.
