Jaipurhat acid case: 2 accused in bail denied

On Tuesday (August 28th), the judge of the Jaipurhat District Judge's Court, MA Rob Howlader, granted their bail.

According to court sources, on August 7, around 8:30 pm, Shaheeduddin (1) and Bangladeshi interpreter Emadad Hossain were taken to Delhi's Nizamuddin (Sa'd) mosque. At the end of the raid, the two companions, who were drinking acid water after drinking several snacks, including Imam Ruhul Amin, Abdur Razzak, Imam of Khetlalal Jama Masjid, a youth of Tabulig Jamaat, were seriously ill.

At this time, they were admitted to the Upazila Health Complex. When their condition worsened, they were admitted to Jaipurhat Modern District Hospital for better treatment. Later, under the orders of the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police and Civil Surgeon, Bogra was admitted to the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (Shajimek) Hospital and the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College the next day.

In this case, a person named Akram Hossain filed a case against several others, including two men, at Khetlal police station. On 5 August, the Judicial Magistrate of Jaipurhat Nahid Akter Juliet allowed the three-day remand of the accused and sent them to jail.

The state prosecutor (PP) Advocate Nripendranath Mandal was on behalf of the state and Adv. Kazi Rabul Hasan Monem, Shahnur Rahman Shaheen and Adv. Ujjain Hossain.
